Reg Measures, Steve Burdett and their Contessa 26 yacht Menai Piper. Have just setting off on a 4-6 month tour of the Scottish Hebrides doing as much sailing and climbing as they can fit in. Both are recent graduates and have taken unpaid time off work to fulfill this ambition. Both are experienced climbers and feel that a sailing boat is the perfect way to explore the intricate coastline and its cliffs in a sustainable manner. They plan to be as self sufficient and low carbon as is reasonably possible. See the Contesa 26 web links page for a link to their web site |

A Man With Dreams...
I am Stéphane Tremblay and in May 2008 I embark on a historic sailing voyage on board my sailboat "Joshua III". The vessel is 26 feet long and we (Joshua III and me) will be sailing twice around the world. Relying entirely upon the wind from Sandy Hook, New Jersey east around the world until the west coast of Argentina. From Argentina we will turn around and return by a different route, having circumnavigated once to the east and once to the west. NOTE see the Contessa 26 weblinks for link to his website |

ROUND THE ISLAND RACE
This is just a reminder that the Round the Island Race is to take place on Saturday 28 June. Early Bird entries ( cheaper ones) cease on 28 March. We had a good entry last year so lets see if we cant do even better this year. Two boats are coming down from Yorkshire. There is a trophy to be won for the first Contessa 26 across the line but only those with an ISC handicap. The trophy will be presented at the AGM on 13 September. |
