re-fit of the Dansende Zon - 2010/05/11 21:21 Dear people
Last winter we (Leon and Camiel- co-owners of the Dansende Zon) decided it was time to start working on the osmosis on both hull and ruther. But as usual, once started you come across all kind of other problems. And since we've started we DID come across. Here is one of our problems. Others will most likely follow on the forum.
Over time we've experienced deck leakage. Leaking was mainly through the fittings on deck were the stays are fitted (sorry, don't know the english term). But we've also discovered leakage throught the septer-pots (sea railing?). We wonder whether is anyone of you have any experience how to handle these problems. For the stay fitting, we've order new stainless steel plates to fit under deck's. Bolts will be fitted in using epoxy. We are thinking of fixing the problem with the septer pots by making them water proof by adding kit in the centre hole. The three remaining fixing points don't seem to be the problem.
We hope on experienced advice, even better when accompenied with pictures.
Pictures of the project on the Dansende Zon can be seen here:
