Mast rake and rig tuning - 2007/11/03 11:23 I've just re-rigged our Contessa, and have been trying to set the rig up properly. At the moment there seems to be a lot of rake. How much rake is there on a properly tweaked mast? I presume it's measured by measuring the offset from the mast base of the main halyard with a weight suspended from it like a plumb-bob. Obviously the boat would have to be level. Any ideas anyone?
