| | Cockpit Drain - 2010/03/17 16:10 Hi,
Has anyone changed the non-return flap valve in the cockpit drain - the one that drains straight through the stern and is about 4 inches above the sole? My is completely non-functional despite lots of cleaning and I need to know how to obtain a new one and some advice on how to replace it.
Thanks

I think the issue is that this is not hose, it is solid, something like 1.5inch pipe going to the gate valve.
Thanks a lot

I know the valve you refer to, i cut mine out of Maria, it didn't work either, I looked into replacing but decided to go full self-draining instead and raised the cockpit sole so I cut put a proper sea-cock below the waterline.
While I cut the old copper pipe out of the transom I was amazed how loose it was, the fiberglass which kept this pipe in just came away from the pipe after a couple of taps with the hammer, i'm glad that didn't happen at sea.
Anyway, should you wish to replace the valve (which i don't recommend) you can buy them from here

Any more questions just ask.
Good look
