| | Mast track for sail sliders - 2010/05/12 13:35 I have just purchased a new mainsail. It came with plastic sliders to go up the track. We have the original Holt mast, where the track begins some distance above the gooseneck. It would be really useful [for storage and reefing] if I could extend the track towards the gooseneck. Anyone got any input on this? Steve Wood, True Blue The administrator has disabled public write access. |
| | Re:Mast track for sail sliders - 2010/05/16 23:09 I tried the same thing, I rivited two panels of stainless steel to the mast to extend the slot. It didnt work, as I had to manually pull the sliders past the ridge between the levels, and the panels were not strong enough to hold the slider in a blow. I knew I would have a problem with galvanic corrosion, but the experiment didnt get that far. I have a new mast being fitted next week. The administrator has disabled public write access. | |
