Self draining cockpit - 2010/06/02 21:58
I have a self draining cockpit, it's a modification as Jeremy Rogers suggests with 1.5 inch hose leading to a seacock in the bilge forward of the engine. I'm just replacing the plastic hose with Vetus MW Hose as I'm a bit nervous about leaving the seacock open when the boat is unattended. This type of hose looks more robust, it's certainly a lot more expensive!
What do other people do? Do you leave the seacock for the cockpit drain open so the rain water runs away or do you use a cockpit cover and close the seacock?
