As agreed at the AGM (in order to try and attract more members to attend who live further away) we are going to hold the AGM and Dinner in September to coincide with the Southampton Boat Show and hold the Solent Autumn Rally over the same weekend at Lymington. We will also try and obtain a speaker to give a short address after the meal.
So some dates for your diaries The AGM and Dinner will be held on Saturday 13 September at the Lymington Town Yacht Club at 7 for 7.30pm. We cannot use the Royal Lymington as they have other events already planned for both the weekends over the Boat Show Week. We will also organise the Solent Rally over this weekend and I have booked the Harbour Master's pontoon adjacent to the Club for the Saturday night - so lets hope we do even better than last year and have at least a round dozen as far as boats are concerned. I am sure the Lymington area members will be able to offer accommodation either in their homes or on their boats.
So lets see if we can get a cracking turnout for next year with all these star attractions - a good dinner, an interesting speaker, the Southampton Boat Show, accommodation and the chance for a sail in the Solent. What more could you ask for!! |
