Notes from The Hon Sec

ROUND THE ISLAND RACE This is just a reminder that the Round the Island Race is to take place on Saturday 28 June. Early Bird entries ( cheaper ones) cease on 28 March.  We had a good entry last year so lets see if we cant do even better this year. Two boats are coming down from Yorkshire.  There is a trophy to be won for the first Contessa 26 across the line but only those with an ISC handicap. The trophy will be presented at the AGM on 13 September. I have yet to order the engraved glass tankards but I will try and do this after Easter. Finally I have managed to get the Lifeboat Safety Officer - Joe Blachford to come and talk at the AGM.  I have invited him to dine with us beforehand . He is going to use my boat as a guinea pig and then use the results to illustrate and no doubt bring realism to his talk - should be interesting!!    Best wishes DAVID
